China, the third largest nation in the world, has 3,691,502 square miles. It is bordered by 13 countries, as well as the Yellow Sea, the South China Sea, and the East China Sea.

Geographical Features
One geographical feature is the tallest mountain in the world, bordering between Nepal and Tibet. It is called Mount Everest. The Yangtze River is another geographical feature. It is the longest in the country and the third largest in the world, following the Nile River(Africa) and the Amazon River(South America). This river divides North and South China and it irrigates the rice growing regions as well as giving an advantage to farmers. The Yellow River is the 6th longest river in the world and the second longest in China. It is 5,464 kilometers long or approximately 3,395 miles long. It is also called The Mother River of China. It lies among the Kunlun Mountains. The Great Wall of China is a major feature of the geography of China. It was built to protect China from military invasions to their country. It was built in the 15th century. The Great Wall is often compared to a huge dragon, because it winds up and down through desserts, grasslands and mountains. It stretches across 13,170 miles from West China to East China.
Climate
In China, the climate is very diverse. In the south, the climate is tropical. In the north, it is subarctic. In the east, it varies from hills to grass plains. The west is filled with deserts, mountains, and high plateaus. In China, the northeast has dry summers and very cold winters. In the north and central region, it acts as a tropical climate, including continual rainfall. The southeast region includes tropical summers and winters with varied rainfall. In average, flooding occurs in the southern, western and central parts of China. Due to China's large size, the climates vary and are extremely different from one another, making China so unique.
China's Landscape and Popular Historical Places
The Li River-
There is cruise taken among this river, which travels 52 miles, and that captures the beautiful scenery and country's landscape. Tour guides take you through the Karst Peaks where you can see water buffalo, peasants reaping rice paddles, and people fishing on bamboo rafts. The trip starts south of Liberation Bridge and ends in Yangshuo where the tourists can then walk the famous West Street. This street contains various restaurants, hotels, and shops showing Chinese live and culture.
The Forbidden City (or the Palace Museum)-This was the imperial palace that 24 different Chinese emperors met during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is north of Tiananmen Square and and it is the worlds largest palace complex. There are more than 8,700 rooms in the complex and the main color in it is yellow, since that color is the symbol of the royal family.
